Last week was presented ‘Yaiza and the camel of Uga’, a new municipal initiative to promote reading. The children of the municipality’s schools attended the presentation of the work in the Plaza de Uga as part of the activities of the literary festival ‘Cuéntame Yaiza’ held by the southern municipality from 20 to 23 February.

‘Yaiza and the camel d Uga’ is the second work of a saga that began with ‘Yaiza in the Rubicon, published in 2017, by the authors Laura Escuela and Diego González Reinfeld and the illustrator Nareme Melián.

In Uga the students also received by surprise the visit of ‘María’, a camel received in the Vallito de Uga that recalled the undisputed leading role of the figure of the dromedary in the book through the character ‘Careto’.

Schoolchildren attending the presentation of the work received a copy of it there, although the City Council distributed the book in all schools in the municipality as he did in his day with ‘Yaiza in the Rubicon.
