The Cultural Association Castillo del Águila and the City of Yaiza have convened the seventh edition of the Short Story Contest of Playa Blanca 2019.

This year’s edition brings as a novelty a special modality of micro-stories dedicated to the popular poet Víctor Fernández Gopar ‘El Salinero’. This category, with a unique prize of 350 euros in cash, is a tribute to the popular poet of Las Breñas for the cultural events organized by the City of Yaiza to commemorate the centenary of his death. All the stories of this modality will have to be related to the life and work of ‘El Salinero’

The contest will also distribute another 1,000 euros in cash between the usual categories of short stories, being 500 euros the prize for the best story of adults (16 years and up), 300 euros for the youth (ESO) and 200 euros for the child winner ( 2nd and 3rd cycle of Primary). Each author can participate with a single work addressing thematic and free genre in the short story mode.

The rules of the competition are published which, in addition to being available, can be consulted here. The deadline for submission for both modalities will be Sunday March 24, 2019, through an attached text file sent to the email address concursoderelatosplayablanca@hotmail.com.
