Lanzarote will celebrate the Week of the European Geoparks at the end of May

At the end of May and during the first two weeks of June, the European Geoparks Week will be held in Lanzarote, which will simultaneously be held in all the UNESCO World Geoparks in Europe (75 territories).

Geopark Lanzarote and Archipelago Chinijo prepares different activities aimed at the educational community and citizens in order to raise awareness about the protection, conservation and promotion of geological heritage, promote geotourism and promote the protection of natural values.

In this sense, specific educational proposals will be developed such as interpreted routes, screening of documentaries and the holding of talks in Primary and Secondary schools, storytelling on trails and open activities aimed at the rest of the population, such as volunteering actions to collect accumulated stones. in natural surroundings, hiking interpreted by the villages buried in La Geria, representation of the TARO show, fusion of oral narration and vernacular music of the territory, underwater activity and an exhibition in the airport T2 on the activities of the European Space Agency (ESA) developed in Lanzarote since 2016.

All this compendium of activities will shape the program with which Geopark Lanzarote will celebrate its valuable geological heritage. The information and the registration process in the different activities can be completed on the web www.geoparquelanzarote.org.
