Anyone who calls on Lanzarote who likes music should take advantage of the opportunities that the Isla y Ritmo Association began on Saturday. This May 18 was a turning point in the organization of concerts on the island level and was a real delight for attendees.

The recital that lasted for almost three hours, rest through, was a gift to the more than 200 attendees. On the stage four musical monsters, demonstrating their brutality in each note, in each beat and in each improvisation.

Jorge Pardo, precursor of the flute in flamenco along with Paco de Lucía, flooded the Pool Bar of the Grand Hotel Arrecife with the experience he has given to play with the greatest, including Paco de Lucía himself, Tete Montoliu, Chick Corea , Pedro Iturralde or Pony Poindexter. The spectators with more luck, those who could sit in the first rows, managed to hear their gasps between the blows that he gave to his saxophone. A whole figure of jazz and flamenco who was noted that being on that stage was making him happy.

With Pardo, Daniel García, at the piano, and his two companions were extraordinarily amalgamated: drummer Michael Olivera, brilliant on every percussion hit, and bass Reinier “el Negrón”, whose physical height practically equals his musical height .

The concert was an enjoyment, a joy and a new door for music lovers in Lanzarote for which Isla y Ritmo has supposed a new path since its goal is to bring the best jazz and flamenco musicians to the island.
