‘Uncertain loves’ is the title of the exhibition that brings together a selection of ten large works dated between 2010 and 2014, all of them coming from the Hotel Nautilus Lanzarote’s own collection, which already has more than twenty pieces of Stammel .

“We have known Barbara for many years and it has been very interesting to be part of her career, even as mere observers. During all this time we have been acquiring many of his works, of which we are in love, and it seemed very nice to open our new exhibition room with it, it means putting in value the work we develop with our artistic residency program ”, says Ana Piñel , art coordinator of Nautilus.

With ‘Uncertain Love’ Barbara Stammel poses a visual and intellectual challenge, delving into the ins and outs of human behavior. His work oozes vitality, solidity and forcefulness, with a direct and devastating look and full of characters that are disturbing witnesses of our daily lives. Identity, longing or loss make an appearance, where the viewer cannot remain unmoved by a series of violent and tormented brushstrokes and a color gamut where earthy people abound, such as browns, garnets or reddish.
