Event Details

It is called transit to the apparent passage of a planet ahead of the surface of the Sun. You can only see the transits of the innermost planets to the Earth in the Solar System: the transits of Mercury, at the rate of thirteen per century, and of Venus, at the rate of thirteen per millennium.

On November 11, 2019 there will be a transit of Mercury that will be visible in America, Europe, Africa and West Asia. This transit will be seen in its entirety in the Canary Islands. In the rest of Spain the beginning and much of the traffic will be visible, but its last phases will occur after the sunset.

1st Contact 12:30, last contact 18:00 approx. The next transit will be on November 13, 2032.
