A host of cultural events to pay homage to Manrique
The celebration of the centenary of César Manrique does not stop accumulating acts that will serve as a tribute to the figure of the artist. The César Manrique Foundation presented a multi-dimensional, multidisciplinary and top-level program of events.
In the list of events, talks, exhibitions, musical performances, films and examples of the most experimental art are established. All this linked through numerous cycles of debate and colloquiums some of the most prestigious intellectuals in Spain.
All the activities will be free and will take place between April 24, 2019, the centenary day, until April 24, 2020. From the FCM we want those 365 days Lanzarote and César to be the neuralgic center of culture.
Although the programming will be advanced by the Foundation when the dates are approaching, in the presentation they announced the name of flashlight:
Discussion Cycles
Fernando Savater, Iñaki Gabilondo, Pablo Ruz, Antonio del Moral, Ignacio Escolar, Sami Nair, Josep Ramoneda, Fernando Vallespín or Soledad Gallego-Díaz.
Musical performances
Arkano, Fetén-Fetén, Niño de Elche, Germán Díaz, Benxamín Otero or Pedro Guerra.
Cinema
Documentaries by Nicolás Castellano, Manuel González or José Luis Guerin.
Literature
Works on Leandro Perdomo and Felo Estévez, as well as a singular composition by Alexis Ravelo, The Blindness of the Crab, a black novel centered on the island and research on the works of Manrique.
There is no doubt that exhibitions will also have a preponderant place: at least half a dozen. There will also be contests of short stories, photography and drawing.
