Event Details

Trondheim Voices is an innovative Norwegian vocal improvisation group, composed of twelve solo singers, who, since 2001, have been developing projects that challenge the limits and the conventional format of a vocal concert, in constant search for new ways of interaction between singers, public, environment and new technologies.

In Rooms & Rituals, the vocal technique and the timbre of each of the singers allows the creation of wide sound landscapes loaded with subtle sounds, environmental rhythms and disturbingly beautiful choral moments. Thus, together with the use of its exclusive sound effects devices, designed by Asle Karstad, which allows each singer to move freely around the room, they generate an enveloping atmosphere and break the barrier of the conventional stage. This gives the public a unique listening experience in which both singers and the audience enter a constant state of discovery.

In its repertoire, free improvisation plays a vital role that is completed by the incorporation of original compositions written by group members or by works by composers such as Jon Balke, Ståle Storløkken or Christian Wallumrød.

The event will be on October 19 at 8:30 p.m. at the Convent of Santo Domingo.
