The Lanzarote Visual Music Festival continues this Thursday and Friday with Julián Elvira and FallA Ensemble

 In Music, News

The 16th Festival of Visual Music of Lanzarote advances with firm step. After the concert of pianist Jon Balke last Saturday, October 12 and the film projections of yesterday and today at the CIC El Almacén, this Thursday, October 17, musical performances will resume with the concert of Julián Elvira, who will present his show Spiral.

The composer and performer from Cuenca is the creator of the so-called prone flute and has become, in recent years, a reference musician in the field of experimentation and avant-garde for transverse flute, being, in addition, one of the most interpreters Versatile and transgressors of our country. His projects are characterized by innovation, since much of the sound of his albums and concerts comes from his research and creation.

Expiral is an author show based on the relationship that arises between the breath and the vibration inside the tubes. In addition to the purely musical, it integrates several scenic elements, since the character of the pieces generates a texture of light, a choreography of movements and an atmosphere. In Expiral the shout and the whisper coexist; The entire work involves a rigorous exploration of some secrets hidden by the flute. Each proposal, each mixture of rhythm or melody, each loop or motif, is born from the meticulous research work that hastens the timbral possibilities of all the tubes used.

Julián Elvira’s concert will take place on Thursday, October 17, at 8:30 p.m., in Los Verdes Cave. Tickets cost 15 euros and can be purchased at Cultura Lanzarote and on the website of the Lanzarote Visual Music Festival. The concert is for all audiences and will last approximately 70 minutes. FALLA ENSEMBLE

Friday 18th will be the turn of the Falla Ensemble. This group of Lanzarote, created and led by the composer conejero Nino Díaz, is a group specialized in the interpretation of music of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

The Ensemble is built on the template of the Concert for Key and Five Instruments, by Manuel de Falla, a work that they take as a starting point for their repertoire. This work and this author could be the excuse for the creation of the Ensemble, but it would be unfair to forget the other protagonist of this project: the key, an instrument that, due to its special sonority, brings a new dimension to contemporary music.

The musicians that make up Falla Ensemble are Carmen Ojeda (flute), José Luis Pascual (oboe), Pablo Blanco (clarinet), Pablo Araya (violin), Judit Díaz (cello), Silvia Márquez (key) and Nino Díaz (director).

The Falla Ensemble concert will take place on Friday, October 18, at 8:30 p.m., at the Los Jameos del Agua Auditorium. Tickets cost 20 euros and can be purchased at Cultura Lanzarote and on the website of the Lanzarote Visual Music Festival. The concert is for all audiences and will last approximately 75 minutes. BUY TICKET.
