Countdown to the Lanzarote Ironman 2019

A total of 1,650 triathletes from around 60 countries appear already enrolled in the ‘XXVIII Ironman Lanzarote’ to be held on Saturday May 25.

Within the list of participants highlights the presence of Italian Degasperi, current champion who faces the challenge of becoming the first triathlete to get three titles and which will have among his rivals world champions of long distance and Olympic distance such as the Belgian Frederik Van Lierde and Spanish Ivan Raña, respectively.

In women, the presence of the Danish Maja Nielsen (runner-up of middle-distance Europe in 2017), the Canadian Rache Mc Bride (third in the World long distance in 2016) and the British Olympian Emma Pallant.

Rated as the toughest in the world, and the oldest of those held in Europe, the Ironman Lanzarote will have as its finish line the Avenue of the Beaches of Puerto del Carmen. The test will cover a 3.8 swimming course, 180.2 kilometers of bicycle and a marathon, and will offer 40 places for the World Championship to be held in Hawaii. Previously, on Friday 24, the beach of Matagorda will host from 16.30 the Ironkids.
